Sporting News: As long as Daniel Snyder owns the Washington Redskins, the team he loves will always be called the Washington Redskins.
Snyder told USA Today this week that even though Native American groups and political groups continue to push for the NFL franchise to change its name, his team will continue to be called Redskins.
Despite the criticism of Redskins as a team nickname, Daniel Snyder said it will never be changed, and went on to say you can put NEVER in all caps!
"We will never change the name of the team. As a lifelong Redskins fan, and I think that the Redskins fans understand the great tradition and what it's all about and what it means, so we feel pretty fortunate to be just working on next season," he said.
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III supports Snyder. He took to Twitter to respond to the recent criticism over the team's name...
