The Beatles regularly performed at different clubs in Hamburg, West Germany, between August 1960 and December 1962; a chapter in the group's history which honed their performance skills and widened their reputation.

Portions of their final performances were taped with a portable recorder and released on West Germany's Bellaphon label in 1977 as The Beatles: Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962, and subsequently re-released in various formats and titles.
