(Omaha, NE) -- The UCLA Bruins are College World Series champions for the first time in school history. The Bruins defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 8-0 to sweep the best-of-three finals series. Eric Filia went 2-for-3 with five RBI to lead UCLA, which went undefeated in the NCAA Tournament by running off ten straight wins. Nick Vander Tuig pitched eight innings of five-hit ball to record the win. It was the fifth appearance for UCLA in the College World Series and its third in four years. Luis Pollorena allowed a run in one inning of work and was saddled with the loss for Mississippi State.
