Eric Clapton is taking an unexpected break from his tour. Back problems forced the guitar great to make a last-minute cancellation of his Tuesday show in Vienna, Austria. He's also scrapped his concert Wednesday in Stuttgart, Germany.
A post on Clapton's website says the rocker is suffering from "severe back pain," and he's addressing the situation "with specialists who will be able to better determine the course of treatment." The message adds that Eric "was looking forward to these concerts and regrets" not being able to perform for his fans. He also extends his apology for "any inconveniences these cancellations may cause, and would like to thank the fans for their understanding."
Clapton is expected to be back on his feet soon. He's slated to resume his European tour in Oberhausen, Germany on Friday. Eric is on the road in support of his most recent album, "Old Sock," which hit stores earlier this year.
