(New York, NY) -- New York City's Fleet Week celebration has officially been called off. Officials with the Navy say they will not be sending ships or additional sailors to the Big Apple for the annual festivities being held next month. It's all due to sequester cuts to the Defense Department. The city will still be hosting some local events that Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard members are welcome to attend. Fleet Week typically generates some $20 million in revenue.
